Affiliate disclosure
Short version: some links on TheSSDLab may become affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price, and it does not change our recommendations.
Status today
No affiliate program is active yet. Retailer buttons on the site are plain links to the retailer’s product page, without tracking tags and without prices. This page will list each program by name once we have joined it.
How affiliate links will work
- Pages that contain affiliate links show a short disclosure line above the first such link, with a link to this page.
- Affiliate links carry
rel="sponsored nofollow". - Links to Amazon will go directly to Amazon, never through a redirect that hides the destination.
- We do not show prices from retailers on TheSSDLab. To compare prices, use the retailer’s own page.
What a commission does not buy
A retailer or manufacturer cannot pay for a place in a list, a better verdict or the removal of criticism. The order of products in our comparisons follows the published criteria on the page — today these are specification-based comparisons, later our own test results (How we test).
Legal basis
In the US we follow the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). For UK readers we follow the CMA and ASA guidance on labelling affiliate content as advertising.
Programs we participate in
None yet. This section will list each program (for example Amazon Associates, B&H, Newegg) after we have been accepted, together with the wording each program requires.
